SeneGambia Hotel Area

This beach stretches up to the SeneGambia hotel area from the south end. Apart from the "BB" hotel, there are other famous hotels like the Kombo Beach, Kotu Strand and Baddala Park hotels respectively. Solomon's beach bar and restaurant is the most popular one here. There are of course the likes of Sir Williams's beach bar, Churchill's and Luigi's restaurant, all complimenting the beauty of the beach arena.

Coming from the "BB" hotel end is just the beginning of your exploration. Just a ten minutes walk from "BB" brings you to the junction where you are left with options of going back to Bakau by turning left; going to Serrekunda by crossing the road and moving straight or turning right to move towards SeneGambia. This junction nevertheless, is called Kotu junction. At this junction, transport ply to and for at a fixed fare of D2(£0.15)

Should you however decide to make the right turn, you are at once dazzled by the imposing structure, on the right side of the road, that is Palma Rima Novotel. A look at any corner of the road on your way to the SeneGambia reveals a restaurant, hotel, bar or a nightclub. Among them are the Bantaba hotel, the Mango tree restaurant and bar, Dolphin bar and restaurant and indeed, the night-club of all times, Spy Bar.

On your arrival at the SeneGambia area, which is known as the tourist village, tourists are seen on parade from one restaurant or drinking bar to another. This area houses the prestigious Kairaba beach hotel, the Aquarias Cafe the popular SeneGambia hotel and the Kololi beach club. The Waaw night-club, which is among the best in the country is also situated here. There are also lots of supermarkets, restaurants and bars here. The only unfortunate thing is that services rendered or market sold here cost almost double the price in other parts of the town.

This is however understandable because majority of the people who play around here are the tourists, government officials or top business people. Transport from this end takes you directly to Serrekunda where you will decide wherever you want to go from there. You are also at liberty to hire a cab whose cost will depend on your negotiation with the cab driver.
